What the market shows

PeptidePrices found 3 in-stock listings from 3 vendors, checked through Oct 8, 2026. The lowest 10mg cost is 17% below the vendor median of $71.97; 1 vendors (33%) fall below that median. 3 of 3 vendors (100%) publish public COA evidence.

A public COA link shows that a vendor publishes testing data. It does not prove that every listed vial has a matching current report. Match the product, strength, batch, and lot before relying on a report.

How this report is calculated

The headline and median use each vendor's lowest whole-package checkout cost to obtain at least 10mg. Smaller packages are multiplied until the target is met, while larger packages retain their full checkout price. The lowest package total is shown only as secondary context because package sizes differ. Known public coupon discounts are applied. Shipping, tax, and unverified promotions are excluded.

Research context

What is Thymogen? Research, safety, and status

Thymogen is two amino acids, glutamic acid and tryptophan, joined by a normal peptide bond. At 333 Da it is tiny, and it is hydrophilic. A 2007 Australian study described it as poorly permeable across gut cells and "not orally available" without chemical modification. It is also a preferred substrate for aminopeptidase W, a kidney membrane enzyme that cuts it into its two amino acids.

The reported immune effects include T-cell differentiation, changes in lymphocyte cyclic nucleotides, and stimulation of neutrophil chemotaxis and phagocytosis. Gill's US group found that its antitumor effect in mice depended on natural killer cells: it disappeared in mice lacking perforin or functional NK granules, and was weaker without IL-12. It showed no direct toxicity to tumor cell lines.

Key research takeaways

Thymogen is the dipeptide Glu-Trp. Khavinson and Morozov's group isolated it from the calf thymus extract Thymalin by reverse-phase HPLC, then made it synthetically. That is a cleaner origin story than most of the bioregulator family has.

It is a real drug in Russia, sold for infections and immune support around surgery, radiation and chemotherapy. Most of the Russian clinical literature behind it is from the 1990s, small, and published in Russian.

It is also the best-tested peptide in this family by independent researchers, because a US company ran it as IM862. A 202-patient double-blind phase III in AIDS-related Kaposi's sarcoma found it no better than placebo, with faster progression on the drug. A 71-patient prostate cancer trial and a 25-patient kidney cancer trial were also negative.

Mirror-image versions of the same dipeptide do the opposite. D-amino-acid forms suppress blood-forming cells, and the developers turned one, written D-Glu(D-Trp), into the immunosuppressant Thymodepressin. A standard LC-MS check cannot tell these isomers apart.

PeptidePrices safety rating

6/10 · Not FDA-approved (registered as a drug in Russia)

Mechanism

Immunomodulatory dipeptide originally identified in the thymus extract Thymalin; cell and animal studies report effects on immune signalling and antioxidant activity.

Research areas

Immune-system bioregulator research. Registered as a medicine in Russia; not approved in the US, and Western clinical evidence is limited.

Regulatory / research status

Research / preclinical only

Half-life

Not established in direct human pharmacokinetic studies.

Storage

Lyophilized vial: store at -20°C long-term or 2-8°C short-term, protected from light.

Reported side effects

Human safety data is sparse. The available evidence is mainly preclinical and small Russian studies from one research group, and it does not establish clinical efficacy.

Russian bioregulator; short peptide; registered in Russia; limited but clean data. Safety ratings summarize published clinical data, adverse-event reporting, and regulatory status. How PeptidePrices rates evidence. Research information only, not medical advice.
