Legitimacy review

Is Prime Analytical Laboratories legit?

Prime has strong evidence for both institutional legitimacy and relevant accredited chemistry work. Its current accredited scope still needs to be separated from additional advertised services such as sterility, and the stale certificate on its own site should be corrected.

Operating identity

Prime Analytical Laboratories, LLC lists 4055 Nelson Ave, Concord, California. Founder and CEO Juan Muñoz reports more than 30 years in biopharma and contract testing.

Operating history and strongest evidence

Named founder, physical laboratory, current PJLA scope containing relevant HPLC methods, public peptide services, and report-specific verification.

Accreditation scope

PJLA accreditation 119492, certificate L25-238, is valid through May 31, 2027 and includes HPLC identity, purity, and assay for raw materials and finished products, plus enumerated microbiology and USP <85> endotoxin.

Methods and intake

Prime separately advertises peptide identity, net content, purity, acid residue, Karl Fischer water, metals, microbial limits, sterility, and endotoxin. Pricing and turnaround are quote-based.

Public service record

Named leadership and public report verification provide accountability, but a substantial independent customer-review corpus did not surface.

Important limits

The official site still serves an expired certificate, and advertised sterility is not shown in the reviewed active scope. Current accreditor records control over a stale locally hosted certificate; each advertised service must still be mapped to scope.

COA verification

Can I check a Prime Analytical Laboratories COA?

Submit the exact printed report number to Prime's public PALab verifier and compare the returned official PDF.

Official destination
Portal search that returns a direct official PDF for the submitted report number.
What you need
Report number + PAL sample number
Exact-link rule
Submit the report number exactly as printed. Use the official PDF URL returned by Prime; never construct or expose an opaque storage path manually.

Identifiers on the certificate

  • Report numberThe certificate header field labeled REPORT NUMBER; formats observed include QU-#### and other issued filename-style report IDs.
  • PAL sample numberThe SAMPLE IDENTIFICATION block and results table; use it as a comparison field, not the portal lookup key.

Result handling

How each verification state is reported

Exact match

Use only when the official destination returns the same identifier and the material certificate fields agree.

No match

Use only after a functioning official lookup explicitly returns no record for the submitted identifier.

Conflict

Use when the official destination resolves the identifier but returns a different report, product, batch, or other material identity field.

Portal unavailable

CAPTCHA, login, timeout, rate limit, outage, or an unusable response remains portal unavailable, not an invalid certificate.

Unsupported lab

Prime is supported by a direct verifier; use unsupported only for a document that cannot be attributed to Prime or lacks a usable report number.

Unresolved

Use when the issuer identity, required identifier, or official workflow cannot be established from the available evidence.

Certificate structure

Multi-page and multi-panel reports

Multi-page

Retain the complete official PDF returned by Prime and compare every page with the vendor copy; observed peptide reports are commonly one page.

Multi-panel

Preserve each requested analysis separately. A purity-and-content-only Prime report does not imply identity, sterility, endotoxin, or heavy-metal testing.

Evidence boundaries

What the record does—and does not—connect

Certificate identity
A certificate file, its printed identifiers, and its retained fingerprint identify that document only.
Issuer verification
An exact Prime response verifies that Prime published the returned report file for that report number.
Tested sample
The report describes only the sample identified on the certificate; it does not establish how the sample was selected.
Product matching
Match a report to a product only when the compound, strength or formulation, and lot or batch agree exactly.
Physical-vial custody
Physical-vial custody is unknown unless a documented chain connects the tested sample to the specific vial in hand.

Review receipts

Records and discrepancies checked

Representative records

  • QU-1007Prime report for Tirzepatide 10 mg, PAL sample 008060; the retained vendor profile describes 100.00% HPLC purity and 11.68 mg net peptide content.
  • RP214-09Mar26-2Prime's official portal returned an exact PDF, but the supplied Pepsynth vendor copy differed materially from the official record and remains a conflict.

Concrete discrepancies

  • The fixed checker lab registry supports Prime through direct_api but contains zero Prime certificate identities, so its current public UI cannot demonstrate the supported workflow.
  • A separate Pepsynth audit found 18 exact matches among 19 supplied Prime reports and one material conflict for RP214-09Mar26-2.
  • The older portal matrix marked Prime unresolved, while current code and an August 31 receipt demonstrate a functioning public report-number workflow.
  • The current official site lists phone (925) 235-1470, while the retained Prime fingerprint describes (925) 235-1242 on observed certificate footers; treat this as metadata drift requiring dated report review, not automatic invalidation.
  • The fixed registry shortens the official name to Prime Analytical; the laboratory's site identifies the entity as Prime Analytical Laboratories, LLC.
