Legitimacy review

Is KCA Laboratories legit?

KCA is an operationally legitimate and currently accredited laboratory for a substantial cannabis, hemp, food, and related scope. That record does not establish accredited peptide identity, purity, or content testing, and its subcontracting terms require report-level performer disclosure.

Operating identity

KCA Laboratories, LLC says it was founded in 2019 and operates at 1509 Bull Lea Rd, Suite 100, Lexington, Kentucky. Chris Ware was identified as CEO in its 2023 Minova Labs acquisition announcement.

Operating history and strongest evidence

Named Kentucky LLC, physical facility, company history, current PJLA record, licenses, and established regulated testing operations.

Accreditation scope

PJLA accreditation 108651, certificate L24-834-R2, is valid through December 31, 2026. Its ten-page cannabis, hemp, food, chemistry, and microbiology scope does not expressly list peptide methods.

Methods and intake

KCA provides broad regulated testing and sample submission. Public peptide-specific pricing and turnaround were not found; terms allow partner-laboratory use without advance notice and KCA-branded reporting.

Public service record

A small community thread includes repeat-submission and fake-COA anecdotes, neither of which establishes peptide capability or broad performance.

Important limits

The accredited scope does not list peptide assays; subcontracted results can appear on KCA COAs and need explicit performer attribution. A legitimate accredited lab can still issue work outside its scope or through partners; the specific report controls the conclusion.

COA verification

Can I check a KCA Laboratories COA?

Authenticated QBench client portal, direct KCA response, or an exact certificate link already published in KCA Tested.

Official destination
Authenticated client portal, contact response, or selected direct official files from KCA Tested; no universal public permalink rule is established.
What you need
Report identifier
Exact-link rule
Do not synthesize KCA file URLs. Use only an official KCA Tested link, an authenticated portal record, or a direct issuer response for the exact report identifier.

Identifiers on the certificate

  • Report identifierThe certificate header or report-information block; a representative in-scope certificate is still needed to lock the exact label and format.

Result handling

How each verification state is reported

Exact match

Use only when the official destination returns the same identifier and the material certificate fields agree.

No match

Use only after a functioning official lookup explicitly returns no record for the submitted identifier.

Conflict

Use when the official destination resolves the identifier but returns a different report, product, batch, or other material identity field.

Portal unavailable

CAPTCHA, login, timeout, rate limit, outage, or an unusable response remains portal unavailable, not an invalid certificate.

Unsupported lab

KCA is reference-only in the fixed checker; a vendor-hosted file must remain document-only until an exact official record or issuer response is captured.

Unresolved

Use when the issuer identity, required identifier, or official workflow cannot be established from the available evidence.

Certificate structure

Multi-page and multi-panel reports

Multi-page

Retain the complete certificate and attachments; the fixed checker has no KCA report with which to validate current page handling.

Multi-panel

Compare each reported analysis separately and preserve any partner-laboratory attribution KCA prints on the certificate.

Evidence boundaries

What the record does—and does not—connect

Certificate identity
A certificate file, its printed identifiers, and its retained fingerprint identify that document only.
Issuer verification
A KCA record verifies issuance under KCA's reporting system; it does not prove that every analysis was performed in-house when the certificate identifies a partner laboratory.
Tested sample
The report describes only the sample identified on the certificate; it does not establish how the sample was selected.
Product matching
Match a report to a product only when the compound, strength or formulation, and lot or batch agree exactly.
Physical-vial custody
Physical-vial custody is unknown unless a documented chain connects the tested sample to the specific vial in hand.

Records and discrepancies checked

Representative records

No representative record is retained in the current snapshot.

Concrete discrepancies

  • The fixed checker stores no KCA certificates and therefore cannot demonstrate identifier extraction, copyability, or exact-record linking.
  • The current registry does not store KCA's official QBench portal URL or the limited KCA Tested public-certificate route.

Reusable integration rule: For future KCA integrations, capture the printed report identifier, full certificate, performing-lab attribution, and exact official response; never generalize from the limited KCA Tested list.
