ARA-290 is supplied as a 10 mg lyophilized (freeze-dried) vial and must be reconstituted with bacteriostatic water before use. Adding 2 mL to a 10 mg vial yields a concentration of 5 mg/mL — so a 250 mcg reference dose is 5 units on a standard U-100 insulin syringe. Use more water for a more dilute, easier-to-measure solution, or less for a more concentrated one; the amount of compound in the vial is the same either way.
