## Three separate evidence layers

The index connects three evidence layers without combining their denominators:

1. **Application snapshot.** The August 30, 2026 PeptidePrices directory contained 103 vendor profiles, 3,294 usable in-stock public listings, and 83 compounds with at least one eligible in-stock listing. A listing is not a unique product, purchase, or unit of inventory. Prices and availability can change after the displayed check date.
2. **Storefront-domain panel.** A frozen, coverage-bounded panel contained 995 online peptide storefront domains. It is not a legal registry or a claim that every seller worldwide was found. A domain is not necessarily a distinct company or operator.
3. **Public laboratory-testing database.** The August 30 database contained 112,713 distinct certificate identities from 122,333 public source records. One certificate identity may appear at more than one source. Laboratory-issued records, vendor-published copies, and third-party publisher records retain separate source roles.

## Estimated traffic and concentration

The 995-domain panel represented 47,750,538 Similarweb-derived estimated visits from May 1 through July 31, 2026. The values came from one consistent set of public estimates collected through a community-maintained extractor. They are not first-party storefront analytics, observed people, buyers, orders, or official Similarweb API data.

Concentration shares use the same estimated-traffic method across the covered rows. The largest domain accounted for 3.299% of estimated visits in the panel, the ten largest accounted for 18.381%, and the 100 largest accounted for 62.643%. These are shares of the covered panel, not exact global market shares.

## Domain-registration dates

Public RDAP registration dates were recovered for 904 of the 995 current domains as of August 22, 2026. Among those 904 resolved domains, 465 (51.4%) were less than one year old and 654 (72.3%) were registered in 2025 or 2026. The 91 unresolved dates remain unknown. A current domain's registration date is not the age of its operator, the first date a store sold a product, or proof of continuous ownership.

## Certificates of Analysis

A Certificate of Analysis, or COA, is a laboratory report describing results for a submitted sample. The database preserves the issuing laboratory and original public source when evidence supports that attribution. Named laboratory sources let a researcher compare a report number and reported result with an available laboratory record.

The August 30 database contains laboratory-issued evidence attributed to 17 named laboratories. Coverage depth is not equal across laboratories, and 17 is not the number of verification paths currently available in the public checker.

A matching public laboratory record can corroborate the certificate record. It does not establish that a physical vial came from the tested sample, or prove a vial's contents, sterility, safety, authenticity, or chain of custody.

## Source-role definitions

- **Certificate identity:** one defensibly identified certificate record; not a physical vial.
- **Source record:** one public appearance or record of a certificate identity. Several source records can refer to one identity.
- **Laboratory-issued:** published by or resolved through the issuing laboratory's own public system.
- **Vendor copy:** a document, image, link, or metadata item published by a seller.
- **Third-party publisher:** a source that republishes or indexes certificate records but did not issue them.
