## Scope

PeptidePrices searched FDA's public warning-letter directory and reviewed the complete text of potentially relevant letters. The census includes online sellers offering peptide products under research-use, laboratory-use, or similar storefront framing. It excludes telehealth providers, compounding pharmacies, conventional illegal online pharmacies, active-pharmaceutical-ingredient manufacturers, and sellers warned only for non-peptide products such as SARMs.

The release contains 13 warning-letter recipients dated from February 7, 2024, through June 17, 2026. Storefront status was checked on August 23, 2026.

## Status definitions

- **Active:** a public storefront displayed peptide products and a commercial interface such as prices or add-to-cart controls.
- **Active behind login:** the site advertised or exposed a peptide catalog only after an account gate.
- **Apparent continuation:** a newer storefront presented multiple public continuity signals, but common ownership was not independently confirmed.
- **Commerce site active:** the domain maintained commercial functions, but no public peptide catalog was visible.
- **Maintenance:** the domain displayed a temporary maintenance or return-soon notice.
- **Inactive:** no operating cited storefront or apparent successor was found.

The field `counted_as_still_selling_peptides` is true only when a public or account-gated peptide catalog was observed. It is false for a supplies-only commerce page, a maintenance page, or an inactive storefront.

## Review procedure

PeptidePrices reviewed each FDA warning letter, the cited business or storefront, and apparent successor domains identified through public branding, site terms, product records, and public domain-registration data.

An accessible storefront records what a visitor could observe on the check date. It does not establish product identity, chemical quality, regulatory compliance, completed sales, or common ownership between domains. Warning letters state FDA's position and give recipients an opportunity to respond; they are not court judgments.

FDA's public directory showed no closeout letter for any of the 13 recipients on the check date. This does not establish that no private response or corrective action occurred.

## Reproducibility

Each row supplies the FDA recipient, warning-letter date and ID, the original FDA URL, the storefront domain observed during review, a normalized status, the access mode, and a concise observation. The FDA URLs are the primary-source starting point. Because storefronts change, later researchers should record a new observation date instead of silently replacing this release.

## Versioning and corrections

Version 1.0 preserves the August 23, 2026 snapshot. Future status checks should be issued as new dated versions with a change log. Factual corrections to a warning-letter URL, date, recipient, or transcription may be made in a patch release and documented on the canonical landing page.
